WORLD-CLASS UNIVERSITY BASED ON INDIAN KNOWLEDGE SYSTEMS
Inspired by Vivekananda’s vision of man-making education, Shivaji Maharaj’s vision to fight for Bharat and Chanakya’s legacy of nation-building, we want to develop the university based on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS).
For a larger part of history, Bharat was the knowledge center of the world. Bharat made fundamental contributions to all walks of human life from Art, Literature, Architecture, History, Dance, Drama, Music, Mathematics, Physics, Astronomy to Engineering.
Now, we want to reimagine and reconnect this heritage in form of the modern world class university. The design of this university is based on a holistic, interdisciplinary, student-centered approach as defined in the National Education Policy 2020.
Support
Courses will be designed to revive, reinterpret, and research IKS — ranging from the Vedas, Vedangas, Upanishads, Bouddha Tripitakas and Nikayas, Jatak Literature and Jain Agamas, to modern Indian thinkers.
Special emphasis will be given to the contributions of ancient Rishis, medieval Sant-poets and modern seers like Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati, Swami Vivekananda, and Sri Aurobindo.
Our Vedic prayer is “आ नो भद्राः क्रतवो यन्तु विश्वतः” (A no bhadraah kratavo yantu vishwatah) — “Let all good thoughts flow towards us from all over the world.”
True to this worldview, this university will synthesize IKS with modern streams of art and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education.
Latest developments in the field of Science are themselves merging into the Adhyatma philosophy of Bharat. At the heart of this convergence lies the profound philosophy of Advaita, which offers a non-dualistic understanding of existence — seeing the individual self and universal consciousness as one. This principle not only enriches metaphysical thought but also provides a unifying lens to interpret complex scientific phenomena in a holistic way.
Adhyatm Vidnyan, with its universal and timeless relevance, will thus be an essential dimension of every student’s journey — not as rigid doctrine, but as an invitation to reflect, to inquire critically, and to awaken inner awareness.
By blending empirical exploration with inner wisdom, students will be empowered to approach the world with clarity, balance, and purpose.
This university will actively integrate cutting-edge disciplines such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Quantum Computing, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Genetics and Biotechnology, and Nanotechnology into our academic programmes — not as isolated tools, but as part of the integral vision of holistic development.
Bharat’s intellectual legacy in Maths, Science, Technology, Linguistics and such other fields is vast and enduring. After requisite approvals, we plan to start with following faculties at graduation and post-graduation level in a phased manner:
All courses, programmes will essentially emerge from and be based on IKS. Modern Bharatiya youth therefore will also be able to achieve practical, material, mental and intellectual prosperity, and thus, effectively contribute to the prosperity of Bharat and the World.
About Chanakya Mandal Pariwar
Shri. Avinash Dharmadhikari, IAS officer of 1986 batch resigned from IAS in 1996 to establish public charitable trust, Chanakya Mandal Pariwar, along with the team of eminent, selfless and great professionals like Bhishmaraj Bam Sir (IPS 1969), Dr. Nitu Mandke, world renowned cardiac surgeon and others.
