Our History
Chanakya Mandal Pariwar has always been more than an educational institution – it is a social movement dedicated to nation-building through education, leadership, and value-based training. Since its inception, the organization has consistently worked to empower students, create selfless leaders, and spread the spirit of service to society.
Over the years, we have expanded our reach through new centers, innovative initiatives, and programs that go beyond conventional teaching. From competitive exam training to value education, rural outreach, and nationwide study tours, our journey has been one of continuous growth and service.
Here are some of our major milestones

On March 1, 1996, Shri. Avinash Dharmadhikari Sir resigned from IAS after 10 years of service, to establish Chanakya Mandal Pariwar. On August 10, 1996, Chanakya Mandal Pariwar was established at the hands of Smt. Kiran Bedi (IPS). Our Foundation, UPSC and MPSC Courses were launched and operations started in a small rented place in Pune.

Chanakya Mandal Pariwar started its activities in Mumbai from First Year itself

Shri. Shirubhau Limaye and Annu Tai gave their Sadashivpeth Wada. They were freedom fighters and Gandhiji’s followers. This is today's Chanakya Mandal Pariwar's headquarter at Sadashivpeth, Pune.

On 6th October 1998, the Vastushanti of the main building at Sadashiv Peth, Pune, was performed at the hands of the great spiritual leader 'Dada', (Late) Shri Pandurangashastri Athawale.

To ease the financial burden of its headquarters, the Chanakya Mandal organized the play “Janata Raja” in Pune in 2003. Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare wholeheartedly supported this educational cause.

In 2003, Chanakya Mandal Pariwar introduced the Preparatory Course in response to the growing number of aspirants wishing to begin their UPSC/MPSC preparation at an early stage. This course not only builds exam readiness but also focuses on developing officer-like qualities, and has since become widely popular among students.

In 2006–07, at the request of Pune University’s Vice-Chancellor Dr. Narendra Jadhav, Chanakya Mandal Pariwar introduced an abridged version of the Foundation Course in several colleges and trained 250 professors, inspiring similar initiatives nationwide.

With the combined efforts of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University and Chanakya Mandal Pariwar, degree courses of BA (Public Service) and MA (Public Service) were started at Chanakya Mandal Pariwar, Pune

For creating social awareness and self dependence in common man ‘Swatantra Nagrik’, a weekly newspaper was launched on 19th March 2014.

On 31st December 2014, the new Dnyanmandir of Chanakya Mandal Pariwar at Warje, Pune, was inaugurated through the spiritual hands of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

The New Warje Vastu of Chanakya Mandal Pariwar is thoughtfully designed and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a modern auditorium, digital classrooms, a dedicated girls’ Ashram, playground, study room, and a well-resourced library.

In 2019, Chanakya Mandal Pariwar launched its UPSC Interview Guidance Program in New Delhi. Within a short span, it earned the trust of aspirants as one of the most trustworthy guidance. The panel is led by Shri Avinash Dharmadhikari sir (IAS) along with other eminent panel members..

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Chanakya Mandal Pariwar swiftly adapted by introducing live online courses. This ensured that students across India could continue their preparation without interruption, benefiting from real-time interaction with mentors and sustaining the spirit of collective learning even in times of social distancing.

To support students from rural Maharashtra, Chanakya Mandal Pariwar expanded its activities to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in 2022

Chanakya Mandal Pariwar, in collaboration with Deccan Education Society's Pune University, started this initiative offering two specialized courses:
